SUBJECT: EUROBANK EFG BECOMES TARGET OF A NATIONWIDE AND INTERNATIONAL BOYCOTTING; DUE TO ITS INVOLVEMENT IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A GARBAGE DUMP SITE IN KERATEA, ATTICA, RISKS INSOLVENCY BY MEANS OF A BANK RUN.

Dear Mr. Trichet,
We have the most questionable pleasure to make worldwide headlines (*1) for the last three months due to our resistance against the creation of a garbage dump in our area, next to an Archeological site.
Eurobank EFG is shareholder of Mesogeos Group which has been assigned the construction of the garbage dump site (*2).
Although as responsible citizens of this country we understand very well how fragile the Greek Banking system as well as the Greek economy are, due to the incompetence of the Government and the military-style occupation of our area for 90 days, we are left with no other choice but to launch and call for a nation-wide and international boycotting against Eurobank EFG and its affiliates (*3)
The citizens of Keratea have been receiving thousands of support messages from communities, political groups and individuals from Greece and around the world.
We intend to capitalize fully on this support and ask our supporters to demonstrate peacefully outside every branch of Eurobank EFG and Eurobank EFG Group and call for deposit withdrawals noting as reason
WE WITHDRAW OUR DEPOSITS TO STOP EUROBANK
FROM CONSTRUCTING A GARBAGE DUMP IN KERATEA

until Eurobank management decides to put an end to the destruction of the financial, environmental and cultural life of our area.
Please rest assured we mean business and we are determined to resort to the “orders” of our Ancient Greek ancestors, ΓΑΙΑ ΠΥΡΙ ΜΕΙΧΘΗΤΩ
We trust you might be able to introduce some logic to the decision makers before irreparable damage is done.

Sincerely Yours

Citizens of Keratea
