For Immediate Release: October 13, 2010
Following the latest heavily condemned statement by president Demetris Christofias at the Brookings Institute regarding “ two invasions” in 1974, the Athens newspaper “Eleftheros Kosmos” approached the London based Greek Cypriot journalist, researcher/writer Mrs Fanoulla Argyrou for an interview. The interview was published in their last Sunday’s edition 10 October 2010.
Mrs Argyrou responded with straight forward answers vis-à-vis the history of the Cyprus problem. Characteristically the paper’s introduction notes: “ Mrs Argyrou is a “nail” in the eyes of those who distort the history of Cyprus … and there are not many who know the Cyprus issue so well as Fanoulla Argyrou does”.

“With what political, legal, ethical right did the Greek Cypriot negotiator Mr. Christofias give these proposals (on the property issue)?”
On Tuesday the 12 October 2010, the distinguished Greek Cypriot lawyer Mr. L. Loucaides spoke at a seminar organised by the European Party of Cyprus . The seminar took place in Nicosia and the subject of discussion was the latest proposals of president Demetris Christofias regarding the property issue. Mr. Loucaides, who served as assistant Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus and also for a number of years as judge at the European Court of Human Rights condemned and exposed president Christofias’ proposals as violating the human rights of the Greek Cypriot refugees, the title deed owners and victims of the Turkish invasion, to serve the non-existent “rights” of the imported Turkish population and all those who embezzle – upgrading them to “users” – our properties in the occupied areas.
